I agree that a student's and school's performance can't be summed up by a single number on a web page but unfortunately unless you live locally and have a feel for the area, it's all an out of state shopper has to go on. Even Utah colleges are bad, I think the highest rated college is U of U and that's worse than #100 in the country. The place may as well be the middle east when it comes to education, it's a wasteland.
As for LA, I can only tolerate so much for perfect WX. It can't offset the traffic, cost, politics, or people that I'd have to deal with if I moved there. And yeah, I know you were kidding when you recommended it

Can you recommend any neighborhoods/lakes? I assumed you weren't talking about living on one of the great lakes but looking at a map I guess that's not a good assumption.
