Do airlines normally supply your headset, or do pilots purchase their own? I discovered that there are no adapters for my military Bose noise cancelling headset (non-6 pin, it just has the single plug). I'm considering getting a civilian one, but if they're normally supplied by the company that hires you I'll probably just hold off and use the borrowed aeroclub headset.
Get a single pin adapter; thirty bucks or so, and it will provide you with two plugs to convert the single-plug for use in civil aircraft. You may need a mic change, as military systems use different impedance. The adapter is a cord with a female end for the single plug, and two male plugs to place in the com slots for your headset plug-in. Easy. I use the same thing with single-plug helmets.
