When I was a new 4 year Captain back in '99, Rick Dubinsky, our MEC Chairman, came and talked to us at the "new Captain" seminar. He said, "you 4 year Captains had better put that stripe on with superglue 'cause that's the only way you're going to keep it." He was right, and I would say the same thing to the current crop of abnormally premature 4 stripers. Besides, my F/O buddies down in IAH tell me that the junior Captains are horrible to fly with, so maybe a few years back in the right seat will give them better perspective.
Funny, all the F/O's I fly with say the same about the LUAL guys coming to the 737. They hate flying with them.
You may want to look at where the Delta and SWA CAPT. Slots are going. Those who have been at more then one airline have a pretty well rounded industry experience instead of only the LUAL way.
