The approach guys there are a interesting bunch with their logic, I can think of several other stories involving them that I havent seen anywhere else. They'll make a Cessna do a short approach for traffic not even at the outer marker yet.
That's probably not too bad an idea given how long some aviators make their traffic patterns... I'll bet they are more concerned with the Cessna lingering on the runway and deciding to taxi 4000 feet to his preferred exit than the actual spacing.
I've had many go-arounds because Mr. Student Pilot or Captain Cessna gets pokey on the rollout, annoying at a charlie or delta because I often could easily make it, almost could think of it as a LAHSO if a light plane, but when tower calls go around, I go around...
