Last I heard they try to fly you in and out on the same day so there is no hotel. If you did have to get a hotel, that was not covered. They do pay for a hotel during training (many airlines don't). I believe this was noted in the material they sent me before the interview. If you don't have prior 135 or 121 time there is a good chance you will do a simulator eval. During the interview I took a written test that was very similar to the ATP (it's designed that way), wrote a paragraph about not being tired for work (to make sure I could write English mostly), and answered a series of basic knowledge questions from two guys then gave an ILS approach briefing off of a Jepp plate.
