It's just like being a checkairman, if you are a checkairman then you get some points, if your not a checkairman then it's not held against you, you just don't score the points for having one. It's the entire app they look at and it would appear that not any one single blip on your app will keep you from getting the the invite.
The point distribution example was relative and a hypothetical example. For some reason he seems rabidly intent on knowing
exactly how every aspect of every meteric of the process works, as if he wants to sit down with people and work a spreadsheet and come up with their exact score. He's never (ever) going to find that out and for good reason. But the gist of the point still stands.
If a 6 year BA degree takes away 2 or 500 or a million points, or if it takes away none but a 4 year BA degree adds 2 or 500 or a million points we're talking about the same thing.
Time to degree is one metric that is part of the scoring system. But in almost every case, factors that effected the time to degree for negative points (or lack of positive points) will have the oppositive effect, quite often in excess, for a net positive.
But I suppose if you are talking to a bushy tailed bright eyed college freshman you could give the borderline irrelevant advice of "its better to finish your degree on time than to delay it for years for absolutely no reason". Apparently there are some kids out there in need of this advice.
