I talked with a guy I knew from years ago that is today a 2005 hire in the left seat. I told him I did not want to see him bumped. Period. However, I also told him that I did not admire his endless reserve situation either. In other words, I would not trade with him.

I think that is far more representative of the attitude on the line. I for one am still not desperate to be a junior captain, as my (and many others at my seniority level) recent bids indicated.
