I think we should be involved in this process in every way, publicly and privately, and if something can be altered before it's cast in stone then now is the time to do it. This is part of the TA process: leaks, rumors, closed sessions, letters and calls to reps, and finally a TA. I don't think the TA process included the phrase:

Members are to remain silent until we have a TA because the MEC has double top secret knowledge and we're smarter than you.

Contact your reps. Of course. THEY steer the NC. They work for us. But they categorically should not be revealing any inside info until a deal is reached.

And no. You are wrong. This is not part of the TA process. It's part of a process being corrupted by individuals with agendas and not following Alpa governance. The same governance which allowed them to be elected in the first place.

Aaaaah. Ironical, isn't it?

If reps do their job, they shut up about what takes place in negotiations. Period. They take input lean on the NC and get as much of their constituents will in the contract as possible. It's a one way check valve until a deal. Well, supposed to be. And it's supposed to be because it gives the NC more leverage than the company seeing the pilot group freaking out about this or that rumor and then readjusting their offer accordingly. It only hurts us in the end. Although nobody here wants to believe that.
