When a group has a relatively high attrition rate, it would be nearly impossible for that group to organize on its own. Even when NetJets started a union, they were backed by the Teamsters before splitting off and creating its own in-house Union. Unions are a necessary evil for larger groups that legally force management to treat their employees better.
The point about a group with high attrition rates is valid. I understand the need to organize as a group but my experience with unions has been so bad that it pains me to be in an industry so dependent on them. Seems like there have been improvements at TMC so I guess they are doing their part.
