Take a hard look at what AAL is doing. They essentially have 3 bands now. The middle band 757/767 (currently 161 airframes) is the one with the shortest life expectancy which of course leaves only 2. The high pay band only has orders for an additional 42 aircraft, while the lowest band has orders for 420. The net result is that the career earnings average will be dropping as airplanes are retired (75/76) and replacements (A320/321/737X) come on line.

Interesting.
