I'm from Chicago and had apps in for all the good airlines. First FedEx was my #1 until they stopped hiring, then United/American were my #1s due to having large presence and bases in Chicago. Then Delta called, I interviewed and was hired. I could not have been luckier or happier because I feel like I hit the jackpot with Delta.
Faulting a guy for not having the same priority as yourself is weak sauce. And if a Regional Capt told me that he was holding out for his #1 airline of choice and didn't have other apps in, I would respect his choice, but couldn't help but think that he was setting himself up for failure.
Just my opinion.
