Again I don't support the resolution at all but in fairness it's not aimed at stopping out of base pickups it's seeking to limit it by giving in base pilots first crack. I know some other airlines don't award open time first come first serve but have multiple "close outs" during the day and award based on seniority and by domicile. We could go to something like open time awards every 4 hrs and still be first come first based on the time of the request but by only awarding it to an out of base pilot if no in base pilots requested it in the 4 hour period. If a few did it would go to the first in base guy that made the request to honor first come first serve

Or simply award it instantly if requested by and in base pilot but if an out of base guy requests it remains in opentime for at least 4 hours. If the trip has been in open time for 4:01 and has no requests for it it would go to any pilot system wide when a request is made.

Also the trade limiting after 12:00pm two days prior is already in the contract and is now being enforced because FLL captains were standing available during that cutoff period and out of base pilots were calling and getting trips when you had guys on the available list. That is illegal per the contract so those captains filed grievances and won and they got paid for those trips too. I hate it too because you can't even trade day for day inside that period which severely limits qol but CH and co only care about themselves and filed grievances not thinking about how it affects even their in base brethren from making swaps. A serial contract violator filing a grievance for contract compliance is pure insanity but that's what happend.
