Moak will tell you straight up he thinks RJ's outsourced to low cost providers are good for Delta mainline. Let's apply some logic and flip that around.

What if Delta mainline was flying every last RJ up to and including those things that look like A319's. What would that do for union solidarity? (ie pilots not pitted against pilots). What would that do for pilot progression (ie no seniority reset). What would that do for the brand (ie consistency of a superior flying experience vs the competition). How many pilots would currently be on the Delta seniority list? Does anybody know how may RJ pilots we currently have performing Delta flying?

If one really ponders what it is Moak believed in and the scope sales that have occurred these past two decades (including purchasing regionals for billions of dollars then selling them for pennies or shutting them down), it really brings into question the ideology/mindset of those running your union. Leadership (what's good for the profession) goes beyond the play of a handful of guys making names for themselves and putting some coin in their pocket (ie "consulting" gigs).

Now apply the same logic to out of control JV's with multiple years to go out of compliance and cure periods without defined penalties. The same handful of guys are signing off on this stuff. Is that representing the desires of stagnant Delta pilots? Asinine at best. While some "code" may be acceptable, Delta becoming a ticket broker for international flying is not.

Fair to say, Moak in the end, showed through his actions where his true loyalties lie. There are others just like Moak making a name for themselves in hopes of "bigger and better things"...those things just don't happen to be aligned with the desires of this pilot group.

DALPA goes to great lengths (including paying guys with your dues money) to come on this board to control their message...and it's ridiculous.
The ultimate irony is many of them supported him for ALPA president. Moak feels we should be happy with 3% annual increases and regional pilots should work for less than WalMart greeters.
