I also agree. Airbus is desperate. I think it highly unlikely UAL would get the A380, if and only if, they do a NEO A380. The current plane's economics are marginal and only in a very high volume market. Malaysia is getting rid of a couple and cancelling the rest of their orders.

Boeing is also getting desperate to sell the 747-8's. Even though they are desperate, and will do a lot to sell them, I think this is a trial balloon to float on getting a better deal from Boeing.

Jeff doesn't seem to like the 747-400's, but I think an A380 would be even worse. Nice rumor though. Might finally get some west coast senior flying moving...
