Like many things, it's also attached to the timing of said picketing. The FDX pilots have been eager to Get Er Done but the MEC leaders weren't as ready so last year was another failure. The picketing should have taken place prior to the corporate stockholder meeting. And the picketing should have been attached to a parallel media blitz and stock analyst meetings. The picketing would have been the icing on the cake - not the cake by itself. While the pilots showed they have what it takes, it was a lost event given the vacuum of ancillary actions by the union. Peak came and went.

The pilots at NetJet have had a tough negotiations period as well but when it was time to pull the trigger on telling the customer and Wall Street, theirs was better thought out and managed. I wish them well.
