They're a great company with great people but SWAPA invented working with management (as some so often complain about here) and signed a 10 year contract once. 3 years past and they just formed a SPC. I agree with everything you said except the last sentance. I think you are pre-supposing DALPA did some heavy lifting.
Just an aside. I wrote a letter to a rep detailing some of the concessionary rumors and my stance on them...along with some items that I think should be included in "the worlds greatest airline contract."
His response: "I hear you."
