I am sure there are quite a few trying, as much as everyone talks about the "pilot shortage" and that everyone is hiring, it's not actually that easy to get hired. I threw my resume out everywhere, spirit was the one that called so I went (and I didn't even have the 320 type just the 757 type). I am guessing a lot of people would move on to the legacies if they could.
