Whoa! In contract negotiations the MEC's job is NOT to deliver anything to management. It's to bring the best contract it can to the pilot group. Maybe, just maybe there has been such a big uproar and pilots actually contacting their respective Reps that maybe a couple of them have changed their minds.
Regardless of how the company "feels" about it, if the MEC votes the TA down, they still have to deal with said MEC.
