I don't know about the way other companies do it but XJT red flags open time when they are shortstaffed and that is a 150% pay rate per hour.
For example I know a guy on first year pay there who got
18 pay hours in one day a few weeks ago...that brings a four-day or a montly total up real quick.
Again I don't know how most of the regionals do it but I would not be surprised at all if your friend Mr. Saaborowski could get 120-130 pay hours a month (with still 11-14 days off) by working hard and using the XJT work/pay rules to his advantage.
