Question to the old union heads: Are we ready to do this in Spring 2016? I mean is there enough time to properly prepare? CA I flew with told me there was a to-do list given us by ALPA on preparing, and it starts over a year out.
FAPA has always managed to get top third party consultants. Randy Babbit, Eclat, Olyver Wyman, etc. This trip through negotiations will be no different. The pilots play a role but the process is guided by professionals that do one thing, negotiate.
For those looking at AA and Delta rates I fear you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment. Legacy carriers have never been our peer group. Thankfully (unfortunately?) we trail everyone else with regard to hourly rates so there needs to be some parity.
