Ya know. This may sound like a personal issue as a 764 person, but pay banding or not.. The current jets + orders for 764 + 330 constitute 88 aircraft. As I see it that is the bulk of our international widebody fleet for a long time. As of Date of Signing on those jets we are agreeing to $8 and hour less and 1% DC less than AMR. We may need to negotiate a higher 747/777 rate: SO BE IT. BUT, It doesn't seem right to me that ANY Delta pilot in ANY seat be paid a penny less than anyone else at this moment. Profit Sharing: we earned it. If DAL can throw billions down a stock repurchase rat hole they can pay me. That is what we have earned for B-scale, LOA 46, 51.., pension termination. NO ONE at DAL has a J-O-B without the pilots being gutted. I SHARE WITH THE SHAREHOLDERS: buybacks and dividends for you Pro Share for me. No Problem. But while I'm one who could agree to monetizing some PS: this exchange seems a very poor trade. Big question: did DAL hedge when fuel cratered? our upside could be huge. And while I can potentially see the EASK change as ehhh, OK; IT's probably a massive scope cave on our large Intl jets. Our partners fly A380, 777-300 and we fly... 76-300s? Same block hours=what could go wrong!? This agreement vs what? more EM195? Who cares about 100 seaters? We are hiring like crazy and the company will buy 100 seaters if they want them. AND why should we give more 76 seaters for any reason without a penalty? Where is the penalty? Is any new hire starting here to retire as an Embraer Captain?? Apparently DAL needs tons of A380 and 777-300s, but only if they are flown by somebody else. Everyone who DAL goes into business with needs a huge fleet of big jets to fly OUR FEED. We are a behemoth. Guess what: that feed SHOULD work both ways. Apparently DAL can't figure out where to fly a 777 much less a 747, but every one of our partners can fill 'em up. Hmm. While the block hour thing has worked sorta in our favor so far this agreement could end that. AND, Who cares about minutia like training pay? Increase of 15 min/day for recurrent every 9 mos. Are you kidding me? These items.. a few minutes of vacation or training are non events. I have been a strong ALPA supporter and have defended them against arguments from their "detractors" for a long time. I've tried to keep it real on this Forum, but it is time to "Dance with the ones who brought you" and I am not seeing that. I want to leave this company better for the new guys.
