You can probably be a good pilot even if it is not your passion. I believe that many pilots fell into aviation by chance or circumstance and acquired enough experience and skills to make a satisfying career out of it.

But it's probably not their passion.

The passionate pilots out there have found a way to fly no matter what the obstacles were. The were the kids who had a thousand takeoffs and landings with their plastic jet plane models from the kitchen table before they were six. They devoured airplane books and magazines. They usually have more than one aviation outlet: Sailplanes, RC planes, hang gliders, warbirds, home builts, etc. They will always look at a plane flying overhead.

If this isn't you, aviation will be an arduous career.

If it is you, you'll look forward to going to work despite all the crap you have to put up with.
