Black Helicopter Alert: Big Data and You Get ready for this one.

Does anyone remember a few months ago when SailingFun was talking about the Company using Big Data capability to essentially put all of us on reserve once we sign in? If there was a problem with a flight, a mechanical, weather delay or a crew misconnect as examples, DAL would data mine to find and reassign the most suitable crew or crews. It could result in changing the rotations of 15, 16 or more crews. Instant reserve upon sign in. Big Brother was constantly sorting the operation to keep everything running.

Here is another dot to connect. The Company wants to shift from the current review process in Section 14 to 15 in order to push pilots to fly more. The SL abuse change is a ruse to deflect from the Company's failure to hire soon enough. They are behind the eight ball. They are short pilots.

Guess how they plan to do to manage this problem? Once you have met the 14-day trigger or the other longer triggers, they are planning to use Meta Data, Big Data, Data Mining to review your entire life.

As an example, they are going to check your birthday, your wife's birthday, your children's birthday, FB, Twitter, etc., credit card data, your cell phone activity, you think of it it's out there on a computer. You call in sick to take your kid to the doctor, then submit a reimbursement to UHC, they are going to know about it. They are looking for patterns of behavior. They have all of your information, you wife's, your children's. Their goal is to man airplanes. To hell with your well being.

If we allow our lives to go the Section 15 reviews our lives are an open book. This all about getting more productivity from the pilot group. Everything they have done in the TA is a productivity increase which results in a quality of life decrease. They don't care. There is a pilot shortage. It is here. They can't hire fast enough. The solution is to get more out of you.
