I'm a 717A and plan on voting no. However as someone riding HIS jumpseat I think it rather arrogant and presumptuous that you felt enabled to lecture him or anyone else about the TA, unless he started the conversation (which he may have).

Also I take "jumpseat wisdom" with a grain of salt, ever since back around 2000 we had a jumpseater upset about RJs trying to convince us that every flight from ATL less than 500 miles would be flown by RJs within five years.

That would include from ATL to TPA, MCO, BNA, JAX.

Didn't quite happen that way did it? (and yes we have had and do have too many RJs in the system)
