AWAC hasn't been around 50 years. Air Wisconsin was sold off to United who bought them in the late 80's or early 90's for their ORD slots. Remember everyone thought they were going to be UAL pilots? They hired two guys, the vast vast majority were furloughed. A new company was formed and the FFD stuff was born. They still had a great relationship with UAL management, however that ended in the bankruptcy.



It's unfortunate but it is what it is. I will say when US Airways was doing the hiring they hired a ton of AWAC guys and very little PSA/PDT, I think they saw the value in the pilot group and liked the guys there. I only knew two guys turned down after getting interviews.



It sucks about the DAL flying, I know it was really helping morale.
