I stood in the back. I saw exactly where the clapping and cheering were coming from from opposing and supporting views. The No's were clearly louder and more emotional. Some individuals were downright disrespectful. I can easily say the No's were the vocal minority. And I believe we will find that to be true on July 10th.
Only clapping I saw was when he pointed out how hard the negotiators worked for us. And even though I was in one of the pockets of nos, most of us clapped because it's true, I know they *have* been working hard even though I'm dissatisfied with the product. I don't doubt that there was a pretty large contingent of yes voters there, but they stayed pretty quiet (and a lot of them were wearing black polos with red lanyards! ). I certainly never saw any yes voters get up to speak in favor of the contract. Frankly I still think about 50% of ATL will vote yes...but they're gonna need more like 60% ATL to have a chance of passing this turkey. You just might wanna hold off on spending that nice shiny 8% raise, trip .
