That's what I thought, too.
I don't consider myself a liar.
I thought they want it verified so I verified, because that's what it says in the PWA.

That's why it surprised me when my signed, dated, Delta sick leave verification form from the Dr. that said "sick visit" was rejected because "it didn't specify the illness in general terms"

When I sent in a picture of my medication (antibiotics) for a sinus infection they came back with "that could be for any illness."

It compelled me to have a talk with a higher up because I didn't get the impression I was working for a company hell bent on taking a razor to the PWA language to set an example. Your own accord shows that Anderson is hot about sick leave, so it should't really come as a surprise that someone tasked with enforcing a new "get tough" attitude when it comes to sick leave working for a newly established company office would err on the side of "let's get 'em" rather than winding the watch...

My second denial was even more ridiculous because not only did I have a Dr's note but I called the chief pilot from the hospital explaining the reason for my sick call.

In this second instance even the third Flight Ops manager/Chief pilot type was at a loss why it was denied. I did happen to be in the office when some ALPA reps walked by, overheard the situation and were able to fix it, and I did appreciate the help from ALPA.

My point is, out of three verified sick calls, I only had one that went unchallenged - ironically for a tooth ache.

That's a pretty lousy track record if out of three tries only two are successful.
With as you say "how hot Anderson is about sick leave" it seems foolish to assume the new sick leave language of C2015 will somehow result in a more benevolent approach to sick leave by the company; I'd expect quite the opposite.

I think based on my personal experience with sick leave verification, the proposed PWA language needs to be parsed with an eye for "what could the company possibly get away with" as opposed to expecting "they wouldn't do that."

If it's not in writing, it just doesn't exist.
Even if it is in writing, it might be ignored and subject to a grievance.

YMMV
