This is actually a good question. I still maintain that the survey itself is worthless as a tool because it is unscientific, and does not represent the true desires of the group. OBTW, that might be your opinion.
My opinion is that if your wants don't meet the collective wants, then you claim survey results are meaningless. For instance, thousands of pits are contacted and the median day one raise desired is 15%.
You are different though and only want 5% for what ever reason. You automatically jump to the survey is meaningless.
