Dunno about the alitalia and air serbia guys, but the air berlin guys have a three year contract after which they can return to air berlin with no loss of seniority. Apparently quite a lot of them consider doing that which is cause of some concern for etihad apparently. The first contracts are up soon.

It would be interesting to hear first-hand from the returning Air Berlin pilots their impressions of the pros/cons of EY. And to what extent the issues were related to environment (i.e., Abu Dhabi living) or flying/schedule (i.e., flight fatigue like what you hear about at EK).
Would love to strap-on one of those pretty 787-9s....
