Agreed. I am not saying that the pilots have not made mistakes. And I would never say that it wouldn't happen to me. But there is some reason that it has happened more here. And I know the SLC CMO has busted our balls over trivial things in the past, but this isn't just because "they don't like us" Pilots have been asking for the "SELCAL" to be fixed for a long time, or have some way of reducing the volume.
IMO this is just one more example of where the relationship between SGU and pilots has deteriorated. I don't care what changes they make. Others get worked up but I'll fly their plane the way the want it flown. But I also won't put myself or passengers in danger by flying slow. I'll make up the time on the ground if needed. Maybe this will be the catalyst that gets rid of historical credit??

I feel this is what SAPA is supposed to do for us, and I think they do a good job. CH (and NL when he was in SAPA) is always explaining why things are done the way there are. And they do it in a way where they don't come off as selling the SGU agenda. But you can't expect someone that is already working overtime at straight pay to take one of their few days off and hop on a flight to SGU. If SAPA is the voice of the pilot and that voice is ignored, what would make a single pilot feel like his one opinion would matter?
You would probably get way more people stopping in if headquarters were in SLC or another major hub. I feel that most of the disconnect comes from being isolated from everyone. Serious question. What could I do as a line pilot to better understand what happens in SGU? I would love to have someone from CS come fly a 4 day just to understand how plane swaps, maintenance delays and hotel shuttles make a work day. And it doesn't even have to be the worst 4 day out there. Just a MSP 17 hour 4 day where you would sit in SEA or SFO for 4 hours on a turn. In return, I would go down to SGU to work when schedules are release, or the 24th (back when people had hope they could drop or trade a trip) Or during some bad storms back east when they are trying to juggle things around. I think there would be real value in experiencing the other side of the coin.
