I'm speculating but my guess is the Delta social network people come across objectional Delta content from time to time and if that objectional content involves a Delta employee they send it up the ladder. Tracking 80,000 employee's internet habits is a nearly impossible and entirely pointless endeavor but if they come across something while doing their jobs I could see them doing something about it. Bottom line: don't talk about your employer in a negative light on social media.

With that said, it's more common for smaller departments, who do their own direct hiring, to search social-media in order to gather information on their applicants. I have a family member that directs a department which falls into this category, and this person uses social-media searches on each applicant. AND, those searches have resulted in persons not being chosen to interview as well as persons not being hired....
