Just being experienced doesn't mean anything if you don't put that experience to use. If your skills are so atrophied by going to the sim for your landings every 6 months (or whatever it is) what good is that experience? 4 guys with tons of time watched that airplane fly into the seawall in SFO. Skillset to hand fly a visual approach seemingly non existent. Relevant? I think so.
