As a new hire I got 14-15 days off and eventually 16-17. Yes, this company is far from perfect but so are other regionals. Some have hot reserve and junior manning where rah doesn't. Although rah doesn't have cancellation pay they have pay protection which means you get trip pay when you cancel if you deadhead or fly somewhere else during the reassignment period. I know RAH FO's that jumped ship for TSA and PSA captain jobs and they regret the move. There are probably better choices right now since the rah pay is near the lowest in the industry. I would look at CPZ or SKW first since we all go to work to make money but if you like the rah bases and still want to go for whatever your personal reasons are then you will be welcome there. I wish you the best.
I would have to respectfully disagree. Currently an FO near the top of seniority can hope for 14-15 days off. I would say 4 day average credit is around 20 hours. I bid in the top 3rd and I got 15 days off with 82 hours credit for July. That is with reduced flying from our code shares. As far as cancellation, you are correct. However I would say being reassigned or DHed is the rare exception. The majority of cancellations are weather or crew related and you simply lose those credit hours. I have been pay protected for cancellations in the area of 5% of my cancellations. It just rarely happens. I will agree that my time here has been enjoyable because of the crews, but I think every airline can that. It's not quite as bad as the Internet portrays, but it is steadily getting worse with no sign of relief. I will say this, with all the sincerity and emotion I can convey through an Internet forum, DO NOT COME HERE! With upgrade, pay, contract, reduced flying, poor management, and all the other negatives republic has to offer I just can't comprehend how someone would even entertain the idea of coming here. Even if it is for a base. Please research how often and how abruptly Republic will open and close a base.
