Most airlines have a pilot working in the OCC 24/7. It's about time we grow up as an airline and provide the support system we need. I do not know about you, but I like the idea of having some support from the pilot side in the OCC.
This was not the intent of them helping out. JS sent out an email to all the instructors asking if anyone would like to come in and help "answering the phones and doing menial jobs."
Once they push through all the new schedulers they won't need a pilot in OCC. Besides, if they really wanted to show concern for our interests it would be a union rep giving his or her opinion when they try and screw over a new hire that doesn't know the contract.
