I, too, have worked for a regional...one of the worst paying ones in the industry. And while my pay was lower (as I previously pointed out), my QOL was the same if not worse. This is the reality when you have NO contract. Sorry the truth is offensive to you.
Who said anything about being offended. I am just putting things into proper perspective. Allegiant is a far cry from a legacy for sure. It's also a far cry from any regional either.
The legacies seem to have decided to shuffle the regional deck every 10 years to keep costs down. Even if you're fortunate enough no to be closed down or furloughed, the max pay at most regionals is around $100 an hr and it will take you 18 years to get there. As we both know, there are many guys on property that are holding captain in as little as 6 months on the 80 and the jr Airbus captain on the last bid was hired in August of last year. There is no opportunity that exists at any regional to make $140 an hour EVER much less within the first year of employment.
There are truck loads of problems with Allegiant and nobody can argue there isn't. We likely will never be on the same level as a legacy. This is what I've concluded and will move on at the first opportunity. As bad as we are compared to a legacy am still better off here than I ever would be at my old regional. (and I was at one with a good contract) If you are as deeply troubled by things at Allegiant as you say, work on getting out like me and every other guy here. We'll likely get our chance eventually. I'll keep fighting the good fight at G4 until that time comes, but I'd sooner sell used vacuum cleaners than go back to any regional.
