The growth from 1990-2000 created a lot of captains. Seems like the seniority number to hold WB captain has been fairly static (outside HKG) since I got here, although its moved higher (more junior) a bit. I agree that growth makes things better. It seems to me that the airline has been stagnant for many years. FedEx Corp is growing but that's mainly Ground providing the growth. Express has been shrinking because I believe we had almost 4,500 pilots at one point. Maybe the TNT purchase will provide some much needed growth. I was hired May, 1996 btw.
