So the question is, with a huge number of commuters, and a pilot group that is focused on family and other commitments, how do you actually promote bottom up communication? This is my main concern because I want us moving forward to be a union of the pilots, for the pilots, and by the pilots. But how do we get participation up so that communication flows both ways?
That's really not an issue ghilis. Any rep with the slightest hint of comprehension skills knows what the pilots want. They knew it before the survey was taken. The problem here was 11 reps that made a deal with the devil and thought they could get away with a cram down that was a full deviation from pilot demands. It would have worked were it not for social media.

Low meeting participation rates are meaningless. Any good rep with his/her heart in the right place is all you need.
