Pay and benefits is why you come to AWAC...we have a mainline style contract but we are a regional. If they change your schedule, cancel legs you still get paid what was originally scheduled at 100%. Get sent on a deadhead...still 100% pay.
Vacation, health care and many more smaller items that make the QOL here tops. Some may say that is all well and good but no flying in a few years...the little things still matter as nothing is absolute...
...as you just don't know what things are going to be like in two years. This year's sexy pick could be a mistake in 2018. Those offering a fast track to the left seat have a lot of poop smell while you are enjoying all the sex.
AWAC will likely not be shutting down in 2018...our performance is tops and that does mean something to mainline airlines that are looking for ways to make up for their wholly-owneds that sometimes can't seem to get it done consistently.
You being 23 could probably afford to languish as an FO at a place like PSA as their upgrade schedule grinds to a halt...and it will.
That being said, today AWAC can't promise you stability until you find a mainline to hire you...none of the regionals can...but you are more likely to be able to afford your time at the regionals and be much happier.
See you in class.
