As far as I know the school needs to be 141 and VA approved. There may be a few other minor requirements...but I don't know of any off the top of my head. Just ask them on the phone if they accept GI benefits. They should have someone who can answer all those questions for you. Also, like you said keep in mind the GI Bill doesn't cover the private pilot certificate. But it'll cover 60% of the advanced stuff...and a few other little odds and ends. If you can get a regular 141 school to cover your training, and have the Guard pay for your state tuition your in a pretty good position to graduate with a four year degree with little debt...especially with the additional money from the kicker.
