If you select "view trips" and then select "view" next to the trip you're dealing with, you'll see each leg of the trip. Next to the first and last legs there is an orange "select" button. If you click on the one next to the first leg (for example), it opens a new page with a section at the bottom that allows you to put in information for the ticket you want. If you fill it in, it will give you a list of tickets on the day you specified for travel. You can then select the one you want and purchase. The email from global travel shows up in a few hours and you have a ticket.
I've never tried to buy a deviation ticket with the new system, so I don't know if there's a way around actually having to deviate. But I can say from several personal experiences that you can easily buy tickets on the front or back of a trip using this system without calling GT.
I just tried this, but with a front end DH. I wanted to see if I could JUST buy the deviation ticket without having to deviate. It was all looking good until I hit SUBMIT for the ticket I wanted to buy. It booked me the ticket but also deviated me on the front end without me ever checking the boxes to deviate. Not what I had in mind!
