Trip rig seems nice but ask Air Wisconsin guys how often that comes into play. Will come into play even less for us now with MDG going up. If they really need pilots they should focus more on retention than this band aid fix of hiring as many guys as they can.
Well that's because as a first year FO you cannot actually survive on that money. From second year on it is okay.

You want people to be interested in aviation again as a pilot you have to pay more than poverty level wages.

Personally I wish they would focus on QOL with hotels for commuting, free parking, excellent medical insurance and so forth...

At least then you feel protected and the money while not great is sustainable because of much better benefits. Then in a few years move to an LCC, major etc where money is a lot better.

Will all flying go back to the majors, who knows? I certainly don't so in the mean time QOL would be what we should focus on.

At some point an offer has to be accepted to put an end to this misery or those who are truly outraged with airlines and aviation should all walk away in droves for new careers or start a business of your own.

Then you will truly force their hand as there won't be anybody left.
