I got most of my total time flying a cherokee six right after college for a guy who owned a construction company rather than CFIing, because my full time job pays very well and it is in aviation, and the hours didnt allow me to CFI. So I work a 4 on 3 off and fly on my 3 days off. I take a day here and there and use vacation time to give myself a break when I need to.
Good for you mregan (seriously, not sarcastically...it is hard to tell on the internet) Sounds like you are one of those very select lucky few who got on with some real good flying gigs early on. A cherokee 6 at low time followed by a king air is some great oppurtunity. Keep up with that and you will be fractional/corporate in no time, especially if you can somehow work some of that into pic turbine. I hope they are paying you what your position is worth unlike some of those other companies out there.
