I sat next to the FedEx CASC chairman at a President's Committee for Cargo once.

"How's it going over there," I asked.

"Put it this way," he replied, "I've been involved in an NTSB investigation CONTINUOUSLY for the last 11 years."

When you think about this answer and reflect on the FedEx accident record, it becomes obvious that FedEx has the WORST safety record of any airline in the Western Hemisphere. They just don't kill passengers.

And, no one cares if just the pilots get snuffed and the cargo burns up. Which is why the "cargo carve out" in all the rest/fatigue regs exist.
