Had I flown it all at block with the last leg over block, I would have ended up with 40 more minutes of pay. So between both pilots, SW saved themselves about 120 minutes of pay. Things like this need to be considered when we try to tell everyone we are the highest paid regional. Add in insurance costs and lower 401k, vacation accrual and soft time at the 200 rate, we are NOT the highest paid regional despite the fancy charts we like to throw around.
Finally someone gets what I've been saying for years (not taking credit for it, just pointing it out as an example). Your pay rates are not bad at all. It's EVERYTHING else that is almost never in your pay packages.
