They fired the PIE Captain that had the evacuation back in June. After nearly two months of telling him nothing, they called and fired him over the phone today.
The system CP and HR simply told him that since the NTSB is now calling this an accident, the company basically feels it's best to terminate employment. Mind you, Crash/Fire/Rescue told the crew there was smoke coming from the airplane, which prompted the evacuation, but hey... I'm sure it was the summer heat and demanding schedule, right?

There is no contract, no arbitration this captain has available to him. At will. But hey it’s a fast upgrade. Poorly maintained aircraft. Incidents/accidents will be part of your experience at g4. Termination, put that one on your resume. This is very typical g4 management style. Throw the captain under the bus. From the ceo and coo on down; pilot hate is what you get.
