I can't speak for the entire west coast, but as a potential SFO commuter I would have taken EWR in a heartbeat over DCA, purely for frequency of available flights.

As it turned out, I got the 737 in SFO, and because of that I'll be GLADLY buying dmeg13021 coffee every time I see him in an airport and beer whenever we cross paths on an overnight!
