[QUOTE=cornbeef007;1939037]I have a few questions regarding the proposed recall of Council 81 Chairman, R. Worrall on August 14th at 1600 in SLC . I've been on property for a year and don't have intimate knowledge of his decisions and actions prior to that period, except for things I've heard on the flight deck. If you guys could provide some facts and insights for consideration, I would appreciate it.

To me, rumors have very little influence on my personal opinion until they come from various sources AND different situations. When I talk to guys who have requested his representation during disciplinary hearings or similar events, I'm not impressed with his response at times. The job of the representative in these cases is not to question the action of the pilot but to provide representation of the union verifying that all applicable procedures and protocol are followed by the company. As a representative in these types of matters, their job is to represent the pilot in a positive manner, not to critique the actions of the pilot. Speaking to some people who were involved directly in this type of situation leads me to believe that this type of representation was not provided. In fact, when one took place in Atlanta, Worrall choose not to attend. Has anyone else been told of similar situations occurring with the Chairman of Council 81?

With regards to the Kingsley Roberts recall, what was his reasoning for initiating the recall? From my perspective, Roberts was attempting to create a bottom up organization and choose to dismiss those he thought were undermining that concept.

Many people speculate that Worrall had some influence upon the degradation of the flight crew rest facilities. It is a fact that the quality of the A330 crew rest facilities has decreased in the last few years. Other fleets have seen a similar perceived reduction of quality as well. What input did Mr. Worrall have on the decision of the company to move forward with these changes? I know that the company is in compliance with applicable FARs regarding rest facilities, so that is not the point of this discussion.

Thanks much for the help and any past company or union correspondence would be helpful.[/QUOTE

I've heard he's a pretty nice guy, so maybe you should ask him. Most of the 330 guys like our new rest facility, 9A. The old bunk was dark, and you seemed to lose contact with the passengers. So, overall I believe he's done a splendid job.
