"I was on flight 2835 today, July 29, 2015, from Greensboro, NC to St. Petersburg/Clearwater. I wish to give special recognition to the captain of the aircraft. On landing in Greensboro, a bird flew into the windshield which necessitated a brief delay. The captain kept us fully informed. Flying down to Florida, near the airport, we encountered thunderstorms. The captain skillfully flew the aircraft around the storm and landed us safely in the rain. He was not able to bring the aircraft to the gate due to lightening in the area. Again, he kept us passengers fully informed. When we were able to deplane, the captain was at the door of the cockpit to say goodbye. I was completely impressed and felt safe in the hands of this great professional. I do not know the captain's name, but this should be easy enough for you folks at Allegiant to find out and maybe forward this message to him."
Unfortunately this crew will get absolutely no recognition from company. They are more likely to get a punishment for hitting the bird than an accolade.
