No one gets paid what they deserve at any regional (save for PSA and the like since they voted to set back pilot pay a couple decades) The more new hires we get the better off everyone will be, including the new hires.
And exactly how did PSA "set back pilot pay a couple decades"? Our 12 year CA pay when you adjust it for the 7/900s coming in our blended rate is only a few dollars less that our old 18 year CA pay. A few bucks for growth and several other improvements is hardly industry destroying. And people aren't coming to ExpressJet because WHY would they? You simply don't have much to offer a new (or an experienced) person in this industry. Long upgrade. Long time on reserve. The point isn't to make the regionals a home, or a "great place to work". The point is to get in and get out. I know the lost decade changed some pilots views on that, but the purpose of the regionals has remained the same regardless. Get in, get out. And apparently your fellow pilots don't agree with you either. We have had dozens of ExpressJet guys/gals in our classes. I guess they are just "bringing the industry down" by looking out for themselves and trying to better their position in this career. Or maybe 3 years on reserve got old.
