So I've got a question regarding minority status and what you can claim on a job application. I realize that the majors are extremely HR sensitive, and I am not just looking for an easy way in but if it can work to my benefit then why not. My father's side of the family has some Native American heritage, but I do not know how much as our family hasn't really been one to cling to traditions and pass down much info about where we came from.

Right now I don't have any proof other than physical features and what my grandparents told me when they were alive, but I have considered going through an ancestry service or searching for old family records if it would help. I am not sure how much I would need to prove, or if it is even worth the effort.

And how do they go about verifying any of this? Is it legal for them to ask?
