Right now I don't have any proof other than physical features and what my grandparents told me when they were alive, but I have considered going through an ancestry service or searching for old family records if it would help. I am not sure how much I would need to prove, or if it is even worth the effort.

And how do they go about verifying any of this? Is it legal for them to ask?
I belong to a tribe and have two different cards that are issued. One of the cards is an ID issued by the tribe, and looks like any state ID. The other card is issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and states your degree of Indian blood.
